5KW BACKUP POWER BIG BATTERY EXPANDABLE SYSTEM (NO SOLAR PANELS) - ALL INCLUSIVE PRICE: R97,000

This is a good big battery backup option if you want to start with a good backup system only, while still allowing future expandability into a full solar system. This provides a backup power type system that keeps the lights (and much more!) on during load shedding. We specifically choose to use a strong 48 volt inverter with a built in solar charge controller, which means you can easily add solar panels cost effectively when you are ready to expand into a full system. The battery storage is also big enough, even for medium households.

14 Kilowatt hours of Lithium Iron Phosphate a-grade batteries (EneFrame smart batteries)

This upgrades the previous system to a larger inverter and more solar panels. This is our recommended option if you can afford it.

A medium to larger household will be able to put most loads through this system, have lots of backup power and save a large portion of their monthly electricity costs. The extra cost is well justified for what you get in return.

This medium system is a good balance between capability and cost, and should be sufficient for most medium sized households who want to have a good backup power system and save a portion of their monthly Eskom bill.

A medium household could be off-grid with this system, and a larger household largely independent from Eskom.
